Like many web marketers, we have hundreds of domains to manage for many different clients. Our first system was a paper notebook. It had the usernames and passwords for over 700 websites, and we passed around this notebook whenever an employee needed to get into a website. Boy, that was stupid. Passwords were always out of psych, handwriting was always messy, and sometimes we couldn't find the notebook! We migrated to an Excel spreadsheet. We were quick to realize that if anybody made any changes, they would have to send it around to everybody. I ended up with 15 copies of the domain list and never knew what our current passwords were. We needed a new solution. One that would be with us everywhere, would always be in sync across employees, and would speed up the domain managaement. We aren't network engineers. We're web programmers.
Then we started CoDomain. CoDomain is the culmination of 15 years of pain, suffering, and forgotten passwords. We've used CoDomain internally for 3 years before a light bulb went off and we realized others might benefit, as well. We made it pretty, easier to use, and more secure. We added some AJAX and DHTML, user accounts, organizational management, and hundreds of other features. This is what you are seeing today.
